Strangely, when one mentions ‘table arrangement’, images of flowers in a vase appears. The Plinth seeks to re-define the idea of what table arrangement can be by placing itself in the middle of the dining table, suggesting an alternative manner and choice of what can be arranged and how. Thus, when normal everyday objects are removed from their original context and instead placed into a new scenario (plinth), they perform unexpected roles previously unperceived of. In this respect, the relationship between arranger and object receives a new understanding while the Plinth remains standing as a catalytic platform in which table arrangement of a different kind, happens.
